Polygraph

All athletes are subject to a polygraph test, ensuring compliance with the 10-year drug-free policy in accordance with the global anti-doping code of conduct.

Urine

Several athletes are subject to anti-doping tests through urine analysis, carried out after competition or during the off-season period. These tests are sent to WADA-accredited laboratories.

Blood

Blood tests may also be carried out in specific cases during the off-season period.

Question & Answers

Do I need an Annual WNBF Portugal Membership to compete?

Yes. To take part in any amateur WNBF competition, in Portugal or abroad, you must hold an active and valid Annual WNBF Portugal Membership.

Yes. The Legends League registration includes one category. Each additional category (Crossover) costs €49 and is automatically added to the cart when you select more than one category on the product page. Alternatively, you can purchase only the number of crossovers you wish at a later stage.

Yes. The polygraph is mandatory for all athletes, without exception. It is a rigorous test, carried out in the days prior to the event. The date and time will be scheduled in advance. This test is valid for 6 weeks for both amateurs and professionals.

Aimed at athletes with some competitive experience, whose physique is at a level close to competing for a WNBF professional card and being competitive with WNBF professionals.

Weight categories apply to Men’s Bodybuilding. Athletes are weighed at check-in. The suggested classes are:

  • Bantamweight: under 68 kg
  • Lightweight: 68.03 – 74.84 kg
  • Middleweight: 74.95 – 79.83 kg
  • Light Heavyweight: 79.94 – 86.18 kg
  • Heavyweight: 86.30 kg or above

Height categories apply to Men’s Physique and Classic Physique:

  • Short: up to 170 cm
  • Medium: 170 cm to 178 cm
  • Tall: over 178 cm

These classes are suggested. Promoters may adjust the limits after registrations close, in order to group athletes as evenly as possible and maintain fairness in judging. In events with few participants, classes may be reduced; in larger events, more classes may be used.
